The Authority’s Final Household Hazardous Waste and Document Shredding Day of 2021 is a Success, 2022 Dates Announced

MILLVILLE, NEW JERSEY. (September 13, 2021) – The Authority hosted its final Household Hazardous Waste and Document Shredding event of 2021 on Saturday, September 11 from 8:00am until 2:00pm. Co-sponsored by the City of Millville, Cumberland County Utilities Authority, and Landis Sewerage Authority, the event was held at The Authority’s Solid Waste Complex, located on 169 Jesse Bridge Road, Millville, NJ 08332.

The third and final event of the year provided all Cumberland County residents with an opportunity to properly dispose of their household hazardous waste and safely shred any personal documents. In total, 592 residents attended the event, with multiple attendees coming from all of the 14 municipalities in Cumberland County. Among the items collected, the most popular included documents to be shredded, electronic waste, and oils and gas.

The 2022 Household Hazardous Waste and Document Shredding events will take place on April 9, June 11, and September 17 from 8:00am until 2:00pm at The Authority’s Solid Waste Complex.

“Our final Household Hazardous Waste and Document Shredding event of 2021 was a success. I am happy to see that all of the municipalities had residents in attendance,” said Cumberland County Recycling and Clean Communities Coordinator, Emma Nolan. “I am thankful for The Authority’s team, the vendors, and the residents. Without them, this event would not be possible. I am looking forward to the upcoming events in 2022.”

The number of returning residents shows us how responsible our county is, properly disposing of their hazardous waste,” added Household Hazardous Waste and E-Waste Coordinator, Nathan Farrell. “I am looking forward to continuing to work with our Cumberland County residents at next year’s events.”
