Bridgeton BOE: Broad Street School HVAC Project
The HVAC Project at the Broad Street School is in its final stage now that school is out for the summer. The project is currently 85 percent complete. The media center has been completed ahead of schedule to allow the district to use the space to store furniture and materials from the second floor, where the major demolition is to occur, and the new HVAC, lights and ceilings are to be installed. The kitchen equipment has been removed by the district, allowing the contractor to complete one of the larger hurdles of this project. The contractor has more than 50 union workers onsite to keep the project on schedule for final completion at the end of August. This will leave just enough time for the district to move all of the furniture and materials back into the 25 classrooms, storage rooms, and kitchen before students return in September.
Bridgeton Fire Station
The new Bridgeton Fire Station is progressing according to plan. The elevator shaft is moving through the building, operating two levels to the first floor. The other mechanical rough in work on the interior continues, with sprinkler system main piping installed. The window openings are being prepared for the start of the installation of the new historic replica windows in the upcoming weeks. The Authority continues to work closely with the City Administration and Fire Chief. The project is on schedule for completion in Summer of 2026.

On the interior, all walls, interior insulation, and the drywall installation are complete. The drywall finisher is onsite and has just started taping joints and starting the finish process. The exterior doors and windows are installed, and the locker room tile will begin shortly. The electricians are pulling wire and wiring up devices, as well as pulling data cable and fire alarm cable. The plumber has all rough in work complete and is waiting for the rest of the trades to finish to install the plumbing fixtures.
