Economic Development

The Authority is proud to improve your tomorrow, serving as a one stop resource center for businesses and residents. With a focus on redevelopment strategies and land assembly, The Authority strives to increase downtown revitalization, assist businesses, and provide alternate energy projects, all while marketing and creating a memorable branding of Cumberland County.  Over $17 million invested in public infrastructure projects in 2024, resulted in an economic impact of over $32 million. Since 2015, The Authority’s Economic Development Projects have resulted in an economic impact of over $1 billion. We look forward to continuing to improve your tomorrow in 2025. 


$826,659 County Contribution

The November 2024 Authority Board Meeting approved the adoption of the Authority’s 2025 annual Budget. The annual budget also includes a $826,659 cash contribution to the County! Since 2013, the Authority has given the County $7,634,230 in cash contributions from its annual budget.

Private Investment

The County Planning Board approved 5,170,000 square footage of private development in 2024. This private development includes notable projects, such as Sika’s Motar Production Plant in Upper Deerfield, the Lassonde Pappas Expansion in Upper Deerfield, Trout National--The Reserve in Vineland and Millville, and a 2 million square-foot Data Center Complex in Vineland. Read below to learn more about some of these exciting projects in Cumberland County. 


Sika

Upper Deerfield will serve as the home of Sika’s newest state-of-the-art Mortar Production Plant. Sika is a Swedish company with plants throughout the United States. The plant in Upper Deerfield will be their northeast anchor site and will open in 2025. The plant will be a 270,816 square-foot facility, and will create 80 full-time jobs in the community. The new plant will produce a full range of mortars, grouts, and shotcretes for residential and commercial customers. 


Lassonde Pappas

Lassonde Pappas, located in Upper Deerfield, unveiled a proposal for expanding its existing distribution building and investing $200 million to construct a new, 200,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art beverage production facility adjacent to its current site. The project will retain 200 jobs provided by the long-time Cumberland County drink-based manufacturer. The project also includes an expansion of its existing 86,350 square-foot distribution building. Lassonde Industries is a leader in the food and beverage sector in North America. The Upper Deerfield plant is one of 19 plants located in Canada and the United States.


Special Project: Trout National--The Reserve

Trout National--The Reserve, located in Vineland and Millville, NJ is a new state-of-the-art golf course.  The golf course, scheduled to open in 2025, features an 18 hole private course, 9 hole public course, clubhouse, and banquet facility. The course is complete, with play to begin in Spring 2025 and a grand opening in April 2026. This $200 million investment will create 500 new jobs in Cumberland County.
