The project includes continuing the landfill gas header around landfill Cells 7, 8, and 9 to complete the loop around the entire landfill. Bridgeton BOE: Broad Street School HVAC Project
The massive spring break demolition and restoration of the cafeteria and lower floor corridors work at Broad Street School was a huge success. The contractor worked a few double shifts to get all demolition completed, and all new ductwork, electrical, fire alarm, ceilings, and lights installed in the cafeteria over spring break. There were more than 35 workers onsite each day to get all of this work done in such a short amount of time. The project continues to progress, as the contractors switch to working nights until summer. The students and staff were pleased to see the new cafeteria upon their return from spring break.
Bridgeton Fire Station
Work continues at the Bridgeton Fire Station. The elevator pit has been excavated, and the concrete slab will soon be poured. The interior partition wall framing continues, and ductwork, plumbing, and electrical work is being completed. The underground water filtration and storage system is moving forward, with the excavation close to the depth required. The project is on schedule and is expected to be complete in Spring 2026.
NJ State Police Barracks
The Port Norris, Commercial Township State Police barracks construction is firing on all cylinders. With great weather and all materials onsite, all contractors are working hard to get water tight by May 2. The exterior waterproofing and roof membrane are both expected to be complete by the end of April. The roof top units will be set the week of April 28. The mason is following right behind the waterproofing, installing the split face block, brick veneer, and cast stone. Masonry should be complete by mid-May. The plumber, electrician, and tin knockers are working hard to install mains, feeder cables, generator, and electrical gear. Inspections are occurring weekly, and the project is moving along very well. Interior wall framing is to begin the last week of April and be completed by mid-May.
Cape May City Police Station and Cape May County Justice Complex
The Authority continues to improve the tomorrow of our neighboring counties. Bids have been received for the Cape May County Justice Complex Project. Ernest Bock and Sons were awarded the bid. Notice to proceed is expected to be awarded in early May 2025 and work to begin shortly after. The Cape May Police Department Project was just given approval from the State Historic Preservation Offices to move forward with the project. The project is expected to go out for bid in Summer 2025.
